At Giunti Odeon one of Stanley Kubrick's masterpieces and one of the most extraordinary war films in cinema history. A group of young marines, newly recruited and harshly trained by Sergeant Hartman using brutal methods, sets off for Vietnam, where they experience the horrors of war in the battle around the city of Hue. A stark denunciation of human folly and conceit - a dominant theme in Kubrick, whether exercised in space or on Earth - made effective by the realism of the set design (the eerie geometry of the barracks and the apocalyptic theatre of battle) and the sharp cinematography.
