I Could Never Go Vegan (Italian version)

Director : Thomas Pickering

Cast :

Durata : 01:35

At Giunti Odeon an important documentary about our eating habits and the way we treat animals, and the effects this has on our planet and our care. Filmmaker Thomas Pickering has never eaten meat. Born in the 1980s and raised vegetarian, he later switched to a vegan diet. Tom has always believed in doing the right thing for animals, for his health and, more recently, for the planet. Despite this, not a day goes by without someone telling him ‘I could never go vegan’ From ‘where do you get your protein’ and ‘soya is destroying the rainforests’ to ‘vegan food is expensive’ and ‘climate change doesn't exist’, he has heard it all. So Tom decides to embark on a journey to investigate the many reasons he has heard over the years, to see if they are well-founded or if his upbringing has been one big plant-based scam. On his way, Tom meets several top athletes, witnessing world records, championship successes and an 84-year-old competing in his sixth ultramarathon. He talks to doctors, environmental scientists, psychologists and chefs. He follows investigative journalists and activists as they infiltrate intensive livestock farms, where he discovers that the A grade awarded to the UK for its farming practices is not what it seems...
