Mariano De Santis, the President of the Republic, is at the end of his term; he has in fact entered the white semester. Widowed for eight years from his wife Aurora, whom he still misses very much, he is a Catholic and author of a criminal law manual described as the Himalaya K3. He has two children: Dorotea, a lawyer like him, is always by his side and always checks his meals to ensure he eats healthily; Riccardo, a musician (but not of classical music as he had hoped), lives in Montreal. In these last months of his term, he also discovers his nickname, “Reinforced Concrete”. But above all, he faces two moral dilemmas. The first concerns the request for clemency for Isa Rocca, who killed her husband in his sleep after being abused for a long time, and for Cristiano Arpa, who killed his wife who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The second: he does not know whether or not to sign the law on the right to euthanasia. These doubts torment him, along with a past that keeps resurfacing and whose hidden truths he is trying to uncover.
