Barbara Nappini, president of Slow Food, will present her latest book, La natura bella delle cose, at GO, in conversation with Raffaele Palumbo from Controradio. For the occasion, Paolo Hendel will also be present and will treat us to some readings!
The Book:
The events in our lives tell the story of who we are, and even more, of who we aspire to become. When we make disruptive decisions, unexpected opportunities often arise, ones we had only faintly imagined. This is the underlying theme of Barbara Nappini’s book, a heartfelt essay that urges us to take action. It not only highlights what’s wrong in the world, but more importantly, focuses on the men and women who can make our Earth a better place, in its most authentic beauty. Beauty, indeed, is a silent yet powerful force, capable of reconnecting us with others and with the world around us. The "beautiful things" are often the everyday actions that seem insignificant—kneading bread, facing harsh but surprising realities like boarding a ship to save lives at sea, discussing the pruning of olive trees while recognizing the value of the trees and their fruits, responding to violence with acts of peace. These big and small choices allow us to remain human. Barbara’s story is one we can all relate to, filled with many causes to embrace with enthusiasm.
