On the GO stage, Leonetta Bentivoglio will take us through the life and work of one of the most important poets of the 20th century, as told in Una chiara confusione – per Patrizia Cavalli (Clichy). Engaging in conversation with the author will be Sandro Lombardi.
A journey into the poetry of Patrizia Cavalli, beyond the pop icon that emerged following her passing in June 2022. Leonetta Bentivoglio, a journalist for la Repubblica and author of Clichy’s volumes on Pina Bausch and Sylvia Plath, captures the poetic essence of one of the most significant voices in 20th-century Italian poetry. This essay is marked by immediacy, freshness, and simplicity, making Cavalli’s universe accessible to all.
The book is enriched with twenty-five portraits of the poet, focusing on her gaze—an essential window into her inner world, just as vital as her poetic words.
Leonetta Bentivoglio has been writing for la Repubblica since the 1980s. Among her books are La danza contemporanea(Longanesi, 1985) and Il teatro di Pina Bausch (Ubulibri, 1991). Other titles include Vieni, balla con me (Barbès, 2008), again on Pina Bausch’s dance theater, Corpi senza menzogna (Barbès, 2009) on director Pippo Delbono, and Il mio Verdi(Castelvecchi, 2013), about the greatest Verdi interpreters of our time.
In 2003, she edited Una volta by Wim Wenders (Socrates), later republished by Contrasto in 2016. For Garzanti, she selected and translated Thomas Hardy’s short stories (I tre sconosciuti e altri racconti, 2006). Alongside Lidia Bramani, she co-authored E Susanna non vien. Amore e sesso in Mozart (Feltrinelli, 2014; second edition, Universale Feltrinelli, 2019). For Clichy, she curated the Sorbonne series volumes on Pina Bausch and Sylvia Plath, which have been reprinted multiple times.
