Show: THE NUTCRACKER – Accademia Danza Choros Firenze
Sabato 13/12 - ore 17:00

On December 13, the GO stage will host a dance performance by the Accademia Danza Choros Firenze, directed by Gaia Brazzano. The dancers will perform The Nutcracker, one of the most enchanting ballets in the history of classical dance.

The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker is a ballet born from the imagination of Tchaikovsky and choreographers Petipa and Ivanov, telling a magical story set on Christmas Eve. It all begins during a festive gathering at young Clara’s home, when her mysterious and charismatic godfather, Drosselmeyer, gives her a nutcracker shaped like a toy soldier—an unusual gift that immediately captures her imagination.

That night, while everyone sleeps, Clara returns to the living room to check on her new toy, only to find herself in a transformed world: the Christmas tree grows to an enormous size, toys come to life, and an army of mice invades the room. The Nutcracker leads the toy soldiers into battle against the Mouse King, and Clara bravely intervenes to save her wooden friend. After the victory, the Nutcracker is transformed into a young prince who invites Clara on a wondrous journey.

The two travel through the Kingdom of Snow, where ethereal dancers welcome them with the Waltz of the Snowflakes, and eventually arrive in the Land of Sweets. Here, the Sugar Plum Fairy greets them warmly and presents a series of colorful dances, each inspired by a different country or treat—from Spanish chocolate to Chinese tea, all the way to the famous Russian Trepak. The ballet concludes with the majestic Grand Pas de Deux of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, a moment of pure elegance that brings the tale to a close.

Over time, The Nutcracker has become a beloved symbol of the Christmas season. Its magical atmosphere, unforgettable music, and simple yet wondrous story make it a classic cherished by audiences of all ages.

Accademia Danza Choros Firenze

Accademia Danza Choros was founded in 2022 from the dream and passion of its creator, Gaia Brazzano. After more than sixteen years of experience directing a dance school, Gaia felt the need to create a new space—right in the heart of the neighborhood where she grew up—where the art of dance could flourish in all its forms.
The name “Choros” reflects the soul of the school: a true “chorus” of people united by their shared passion for dance.
